
Principal Consultant
Craig Bidois, one of New Zelands most experienced Security Risk Practitioners, has returned from working in a professional security capacity overseas, and is pleased to lead a team of New Zealand -based risk and training experts.
Craig brings over 25 years experience to FearFree, including an extensive background in the Middle East and North Africa, as part of the United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations.
One of the very few New Zealanders to be awarded the Iraq Reconstruction Medal by the British Government, for his dedicated work under extreme conditions to help rebuild the Iraqi Security Forces. Craig concentrated on assessments of extreme risk locations, and training of government personnel working in venues and locations in Iraq.
Craig is a graduate of the United Nations Staff College in Turin, Italy. He is one of a small number of international trainers to be formally certified to deliver the United Nations induction and pre deployment survival skills course, and uses these skills to train and develop instructors of many organisations.
Craig’s New Zealand experience includes managing safety and security operations for large international venues, Regional Loss Prevention Management for one of Australasia’s largest retailers, and also Specialist Safety and Security operations for some of New Zealand’s leading hotels. Prior to his security risk management experience Craig was a sergeant in the NZ Police service.
Senior Instructor
David (DJ) Smith, a highly trained and skilled instructor, brings to FearFree over 30 years of experience including prior roles within the New Zealand Police, Royal New Zealand Navy and Royal New Zealand Air Force. He is a fully certified trainer in Personal Safety, Aggressive People Management and Staff Safety. He is an expert in training people, and his methods of instructing are dynamic and engaging, thus ensuring students retain important information.
His specialist interest in staff safety stretches back to 1997 when he was appointed to the elite position of Instructor at the New Zealand Police Firearms Unit. The Unit quickly expanded to embrace Staff Safety Tactical Training which combined Tactical Firearms and Defensive Tactics Training. DJ’s comprehensive experience in Safety Management, Defensive Tactics and protection rank him as one of New Zealand’s most sought after Staff Safety Training Instructors.
Business Development Manager
Rod Bidois brings a wealth of senior management and business skills to the company. He has a vast media and sales background with particular expertise in HR recruitment screening and vetting.
